Wenzhou II is a delightful Chinese restaurant nestled in the vibrant heart of L'Eixample, Barcelona. This local gem offers an authentic culinary journey into traditional Chinese flavors, perfectly suited for those craving genuine dishes without straying too far from the city center. Despite its modest and unpretentious interior—reminiscent of a classic Chinese canteen—the experience here is anything but ordinary.
Step inside and you’ll be greeted by the inviting aromas of freshly prepared dishes, from the silky, savory hot and sour soup brimming with fresh peppers, tofu, and tender egg to the signature 100-year-old eggs, a rare delicacy that Emma Bressel calls her “little secret” favorite. The menu caters to cravings big and small, with generous portions of fried rice that come highly recommended and homemade ramen bowls that are praised for their rich broths and satisfying heartiness.
The dining atmosphere is casual yet lively, where locals and visitors alike share tables in a bustling space that hums with the energy of good food and quick, friendly service. Be prepared for peak times—the queues can stretch, echoing “the great wall of China” during busy Spanish dining hours. Arriving early ensures you can settle comfortably and savor every bite without rush.
What truly sets Wenzhou II apart is its ability to marry authenticity with affordability. Whether you’re a student looking for a quality meal on a budget or a food lover eager to explore bold, genuine flavors, this restaurant delivers. The simple décor is easily forgiven when faced with the explosion of tastes on your plate—from the spiced-up tofu picante that builds heat with each bite to the richly textured Beijing duck that’s impossible to finish in one sitting.
Many have praised the spot for its large portion sizes, excellent value, and standout dishes that linger fondly in the memory long after the meal ends. The warm, approachable service completes the picture: efficient most times, warmly attentive, and always eager to share the delicious traditions of Chinese cuisine with their guests.
In essence, Wenzhou II is not just a place to eat; it’s a trusted companion for anyone seeking an honest, flavorful, and heartwarming Chinese meal in Barcelona. Whether you’re in the mood for a quiet midweek lunch or gearing up for a night out in the city, this restaurant will satisfy your cravings with authentic taste and generous hospitality.

Our little secret spot when we are heading into town for a night out and looking for good and reasonably priced dishes. I freaking love the 100 year old eggs. Also any fried rice dishes are a huge recommendation. Location is not too far from the city centre and the service (most times) quickly

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Chinese restaurant in the city! My favorite spot when I’m craving ramen or other Asian dishes. They serve homemade ramen with generous portions, and the prices are very reasonable — not just for ramen, but for all their food. The service is great, too! If you’re a student, this place is highly recommended for enjoying a tasty meal on a budget while still dining in a nice restaurant. My favorite place and keep coming back whenever I missing this place!

Hot and sour soup was outstanding. Large portion fresh peppers, tofu, and egg with a flavorful base that was not overbearing. One of the best hot and sour soups I have ever had

You know you’re at the right place at the right time especially when you’re craving something hot and savoury, or simply hungry. The queue runs like the great wall of china if you come in around the spanish timing so if you’ve been running around do get in early. Everything on the menu seem like a good pair and portions are generous. The cold “chinese tapas” (appetisers) ofcourse come in smaller plates but if you’re unfamiliar with the cuisine tastes it could be better to try just something you’re fond of depending on the season/ weather you’re in. For colder days, you bet the hot noodles and hot sour soup drizzled with good old vinegar wont cozy you up for more spoonfuls of food and rice, its like how tapa and vino became friends cuddled up in a taberna. Prices are friendly, food is satisfying for the tummy, couldnt ask for more in resetting the asian palate.

Popular restaurant for Chinese and locals. The prices here are very cheap and they serve big portion sizes and the food most importantly is pretty good. The interior is simple and dated and look more like a Chinese canteen however the food makes up for it.

The food is excellent and authentic of what we ordered, a bit surprise because the decoration is very basic. not big portions but good to share to taste. We paid 38.5euro for lunch of 4.

I sat outside on a small table with people rushing by. The server said I had to choose a dish quickly cause the chef was leaving soon. So I ordered the Tofu picante (spicy tofu) with rice. The flavors were so good and you felt it become more spicy. It was affordable and I had to ask for a box for the leftovers. So if you want auntentic Chinese food this restaurant is for you. They have several other dishes you can get vegan too
